About Zoo

ZOO Venues runs three thriving and diverse temporary theatres - boasting nine performance spaces between them - at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Our original venue ZOO (venue 124, 140 The Pleasance) houses two atmospheric studio theatres in church buildings just beyond the Pleasance Courtyard, and is a hotbed of new theatre and an ideal environment for seeing smaller-scale dance and physical theatre at close quarters.

Over the road at ZOO Southside (venue 82, 117 Nicolson Street), the majestic Main House is reserved for our celebrated programme of international dance and physical theatre. It's a venue of contrasts though, with the Cabaret Bar and Studio downstairs focusing on comedy, music and theatre, plus an exotic array of evening events and a photography exhibition. Zoo Southside's outdoor Patio Bar is also an ideal location to while away time between shows.

The latest addition is ZOO Roxy (venue 115, Roxburgh Place), as we bring the much-loved Edinburgh building back into use for this summer's Fringe. ZOO's most diverse venue yet, it hosts the dance and physical theatre for which we are best known alongside cutting-edge theatre, comedy, music and art, alongside chilled-out evening entertainment in the venue's sumptuous basement bar.
